Girl Reading

It Arrived!

Thank Goodness! My tween pre-ordered a new book a few months ago. She has been counting down the days until delivery. I’m not kidding, at all! Well, today is the day! I’m so relieved because if I had to explain that it didn’t arrive in the mail it would be serious drama time. Right now I am feeling that “happy my baby is happy” feeling. I love it when that happens!

While she was waiting for her book to arrive, she decided to be a guest poster on my blog and write a quick review and reasons for her great love of this series by Shannon Messenger. Of course I encouraged this and hopefully it will be her first guest post of many! Please share if you have a young reader in your life.

Synopsis

Within this miraculous series, we follow a girl named Sophie Foster. In the first book, she is 12 years old, and is a child genius. As a 12 year old high school senior, she has never quite fit in. But that is not the only way Sophie is different. She is a Telepath, which means that she can hear the thoughts of anyone around her. She can read minds! Then, out of nowhere, she meets Fitz. Fitz is a mysterious boy who can somehow also read minds. He shows her a world where, for the first time in her life, she isn’t an outcast.

She is then forced to leave behind everything she loves in the blink of an eye. She now has to start fresh in a world where she finds traveling on beams of light is possible, creatures like ogres, trolls, goblins, dwarfs and gnomes are real, and everything that she once believed is all wrong. As she struggles to learn the ways of this strange new world, she uncovers another secret…

There are things hidden in her mind that she doesn’t understand, things about her new world. These secrets are in her mind for some strange reason, and there are people who would do anything to find out what these secrets are. They would even kill . . .

“A delightful and dangerous adventure with complex characters and relationships you’ll root for till the end of time.”    ~Lisa McMann, New York Times bestselling author of The Unwanteds

Keeper of the Lost Cities  is a little bit Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, a little bit Lord of the Rings, and a little bit Harry Potter. And it’s all fun!”    ~Michael Buckley, New York Times bestselling author of the Sisters Grimm and NERDS series.

“A slew of interesting and well-drawn characters, careful plotting, and just plain good storytelling will have readers racing through the pages.”    ~School Library Journal

Join Sophie on this adventure as she uncovers secrets from her murky past that will change her life, and the lives of those close to her, forever!
