Oh Lavender. Ahhhhh. Deep breath in. Slow breath out. Good stuff. Now, Peppermint was love at first sight, but Lavender just sort of snuck up on me. At first I thought it smelled old fashioned and I’m more into scents that are citrus versus floral. I think this began long ago when I first noticed that strong perfume and air fresheners would always bring on a migraine for me. Needless to say, I switched to body sprays for occasional use back then. I rarely use these sprays now because now I have essential oils!
My First Kit
My first oil kit purchase was in 2015 from doTERRA and I have been occasionally purchasing them until now. I was seriously hoarding my supply of oils though, not sure why?! I’ve been known to do this with other expensive beauty products and “things,” saving them for something big. Well, you know what they say, “You can’t take it with you when you go…” Sooo…
When I became a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA I decided to start using everything I could so that I could really give my true opinions about the products. (No one suggested or required me to do this, I just do it because I’m interested in learning about all the products.) The more I use oils, the more I like them and I LOVE that! There is actually quite a lot of oil in each bottle (about 200 drops in a 15ml bottle) and you only use a drop at a time, so they do last and last.
Lavender is considered a gentle, starter oil. I like to put a little on the bottom of my feet at bedtime for better sleep. It also makes a nice linen spray if you mix a few drops with water in a spray bottle. #affiliate Lavender has a relaxing aroma, which is why many people use it to fight feelings of anxiety. Safety and Oils
I like to learn about the essential oils that I use. They each have different uses and dangers, like anything else. So before you ingest anything or put it on your skin, read the bottle! Or better yet, research it! I personally feel confident that doTerra has high quality, safe products so that is what I chose to use and sell. I might ingest them occasionally, with the correct dilution but I would not do that for all oils that are on the market. Some oils are only for aromatherapy, so pay attention. For example, I could add doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil to my salad dressing or cocktail, but I could not do this with just any oil from a aromatherapy kit.
